Where does the Cook-Off take place?
The Great American Seafood Cook-Off takes place at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, in Hall J, alongside the Louisiana Restaurant Association Food Service Expo. The Cook-Off is open to the public, while the Expo is open to food service professionals only.

What time does the Cook-Off begin?
The Cook-Off opening ceremonies generally begin at 11:30 a.m. The chefs will cook throughout the day, typically culminating with closing ceremonies and the announcement of the winner at 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 in advance at one of the Whole Foods locations below or $10 at the door.

Will there be food served?
Guests of the Cook-Off will enjoy a seafood sampling, complimentary water and snacks from sponsors. Guests seeking additional fare will be able to purchase food at the Jazz Café located in the hall of the Convention Center.
How can I enter to compete in the competition?
Each year, Governor Jindal sends a letter to his fellow governors inviting their states’ best chefs to compete in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off. Governors will sometimes choose their own executive chefs, while other times they appoint a chef from a noteworthy restaurant in their state.
